kio-extras

KDE KIO workers providing network-transparent access via sftp, smb, mtp, nfs, fish, and other protocols. Built from the KF5 23.08.5 release branch — the same codebase as Ubuntu 24.04’s package, plus the rsync KIO worker.

Why this build?

Ubuntu 24.04 ships the same 23.08.5 kio-extras, but without rsync support. This build adds:

Native rsync:// protocol — browse and download from rsync daemon servers directly in Dolphin, Konqueror, and any KDE application using the file dialog
No shell-out — the rsync KIO worker speaks the rsync daemon wire protocol directly over TCP, with no dependency on /usr/bin/rsync
Directory listing, stat, and file download for rsync:// URLs (e.g. rsync://mirror.example.com/repo/)

This package replaces the distro’s kio-extras and conflicts with the standalone kio-rsync package (the rsync worker is now included here instead).
