kio-rsync

Why this build?

This package does not exist in any Linux distribution. It is an entirely new KDE KIO worker that adds native rsync:// protocol support to the KDE desktop.

• Native protocol implementation — full rsync daemon wire protocol (version 31) in C++, including varint encoding, multiplex framing, and incremental file lists
• No shell-out — does not call /usr/bin/rsync; communicates directly over TCP with rsync daemon servers
• Browse rsync servers in Dolphin/Konqueror — list modules, navigate directories, view file metadata and download files using rsync://host/module/path
• Authentication support — challenge-response auth for password-protected modules with KDE credential caching
• Nanosecond timestamps — MOD_NSEC support for accurate file time preservation

Note: this standalone package conflicts with kio-extras, which bundles the same rsync worker alongside KDE’s other KIO workers. Install one or the other, not both.
