mbpfan-tray

GTK3/AppIndicator systray application for monitoring CPU temperature, fan speed, and adjusting mbpfan settings on MacBooks running Linux.

mbpfan provides excellent automatic fan control for MacBooks, but has no GUI for monitoring or adjusting settings. This package fills that gap:

Live CPU temperature — temperature label and icon in the system tray, updated every 3 seconds
Fan speed monitoring — per-fan RPM display in the tray menu and settings dialog
Temperature threshold control — GUI spinboxes to adjust low, high, and max temperature thresholds
Fan speed limits — set minimum and maximum RPM via the settings dialog
Automatic daemon restart — changes are written to /etc/mbpfan.conf via pkexec and the mbpfan service is restarted automatically
Temperature alerts — notifications at 85C and critical alerts at 95C via notify-send
Session autostart — installs to /etc/xdg/autostart/ for automatic launch
