xfce4-power-manager

Power manager for the Xfce desktop environment with battery charge threshold control for extending battery lifespan.

Ubuntu 24.04 ships xfce4-power-manager 4.18.3. This build provides:

Battery charge threshold control — set a maximum charge level (20–100%) via the Settings dialog to preserve battery health. Uses a PolicyKit-authenticated sysfs helper to write charge_control_end_threshold, supported on laptops with the appropriate kernel driver (Apple SMC, ThinkPad, ASUS, Framework, etc.)
Panel plugin integration — the charge limit is displayed in the panel popup menu when enabled
Automatic restore on boot — the power manager daemon re-applies the saved charge threshold on startup, so the setting persists across reboots even when the kernel/firmware does not retain it
